Democrats win back Ted Kennedy's old Senate seat

Elizabeth Warren has won back the seat sensationally taken by the Republicans’ Scott Brown in 2010.

THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY has won back a Senate seat traditionally seen as one of its safest – the seat in Massachusetts formerly held by Ted Kenendy.

NBC News has called the Senate election for Elizabeth Warren, a Harvard professor, ousting Scott Brown who had taken the seat in a surprise coup in the 2010 special election.

Kennedy had held the seat for 47 years, and Scott’s victory in a special election after Kennedy’s 2009 death was seen as a stern rebuke to the Obama administration.

Meanwhile, 32-year-old Joe Kennedy – a great-nephew of Ted and John F Kennedy, and a grandson of former senator Robert F Kennedy – has been elected to the House of Representatives.

Ted Kennedy’s death in 2009, and the retirement of his son Patrick from his Congressional seat in Rhode Island last year, had left the US Congress without a member of the Kennedy family for the first time in over six decades.

10m is a pittance. Does that even cover the cost of CAB?

Do you actually suggest that the €4m should have been divided and returned in cash to the population of ireland.
i.e. a cheque for less than €1 each?

And in your opinion would that be a better approach than, say, adding a ward of new beds in a hospital and manning them for a year?
Or improving a few accident black spots around the country?

What about our money that was criminally taken by unsecured bondholders and the ECB. The figures from that HEIST would make 4 million look like small change.

The Irish people DID NOT get back almost €4 million worth of dirty money in 2014 as that money probably went to the friends and lobbyists of the government, they had a good time with that money…
