Paschal Donohoe's office graffitied after no vote

The Fine Gael TD said he found it ironic that “the people who are making accusations of cowardice, carried out this act under the cover of night”.

FINE GAEL TD Paschal Donohoe’s constituency office in Phibsborough, Dublin was branded overnight with the word ‘coward’ and a feminist symbol.

It comes after the he voted against Clare Daly’s abortion bill that was defeated by 101 votes to 27 in the Dáil yesterday evening.

Responding to the graffiti, Deputy Donohoe said:

I find it ironic that the people who are making accusations of cowardice, carried out this act under the cover of night. The incident has been reported to the Gardaí and the matter is now in their hands.

The bill was for legislating for the X Case and would have provided an interim legislative arrangement as required by the Council of Europe, for termination of pregnancy where as a matter of probability a real and substantial risk to the life of the pregnant woman exists.

Same basic plotline of Brave New World. I’ll probably read it.
