FILMED IN A park in Montreal, this footage appears to show a golden eagle snatching a child, then dropping it a few feet later.
Happily (for the toddler, anyway) it’s emerged that the video is probably a fake. This Gawker post explains why.
Conservationists have also raised concerns about the clip, saying that staging events like this could further endanger already-scarce bird species.

I think its pretty clear what happened here. The kid had fallen over and then eagle swooped in to help him back on his feet. Poor misunderstood good guy golden eagle!

The desperately hungry eagle spied a handy snack but no matter how long it had gone without food it hadn’t yet reached the desperate situation of having to eat a baby that it knew would just taste of dirty nappies and monster munch.

Fake. IMHO that was a doll with something to attract the bird on its back. The real baby is in the buggy facing away from the camera. The switch is made when person with camera is running to them.
When we were kids we got threatened with “I’ll give you to the birds” if we were bold. This is exactly what I used to imagine it’d be like.

Here is footage of an eagle knocking mountain goats off a cliff. In one segment it shows an eagle flying with one of the goats and the goat looks to be a good deal heavier than that child.
Its well known that that bird in your link was a trained eagle. The footage above has been proven to be fake.
