Number of new buildings rose by 2% in 2012

The figures also show a drop of 87 per cent compared to the record high of 2007, when 96,000 new buildings were identified.

THERE WERE 12,541 new residential and commercial buildings in 2012.

The figures released by GeoDirectory, show a year on year increase of 2 per cent compared to 2011 and a drop of 87 per cent compared to the record high of 2007, when 96,000 new buildings were identified.

There were 10,919 residential buildings, 1,245 commercial buildings and 375 dual-purpose buildings with both residential and commercial components.

Fourteen counties, Clare, Cork, Galway, Kerry, Kildare, Kilkenny, Leitrim, Louth, Meath, Monaghan, Offaly, Sligo, Tipperary and Wexford were in line with the national trend, showing increases in new building additions compared to 2011.

Cork recorded the largest number of new buildings (1,576) with Clare recording the smallest (2).

The data shows that 12 per cent of this new commercial and residential stock are vacant and 1,720 buildings across the country were under construction at the end of the year.

In addition, there was a 25 per cent year on year decrease in commercial buildings additions, with 1,245 recorded in 2012 compared to the 2011 figure of 1,661.

However, Dara Keogh, CEO, GeoDirectory said the figures showed a positive trend in the building sector:

The end of year figures for 2012 highlight a small increase in building activity.  The figures for 2012 and 2011 indicate a bottoming out of the downward curve, and a leveling off of the decrease in building activity.  This positive trend is supported by growth in new additions across fourteen counties, with Cork City and County recording the largest number of new buildings.

Trump obviously forgets the greatest idiot that ever wore shoe leather, G W Bush. No other US president in history has done more to f*%k up and accelerate terrorism as much as him. Creating Isis, the invasion of Iraq and destroying the lives of so many is Bush’s legacy to the world.

Trump is just calling them out as the people who dragged the UK and the US into a global war to further national interests

the test here is to that most American of traits, SUPERPATRIOTISM

for example, once a US soldier lands on foreign soil, legally or not, you may not in any way do anything other than support that soldier and that mission. to do otherwise would be treasonous. Trump is testing this to its limits, right up to the main two soldiers of the last 8 years, Clinton and her lap dog Obama.

this is going to get real interesting, real quick

And as this theater progresses, disguising itself as a democratic process, lets have a look behind the glamour, and see what is happening in the real world. Apart from the fact that a majority of people don’t want to know, we are also been intentionally distracted from this reality.
“The Central Issue in the U.S. Presidential Campaign
The central issue in the U.S. Presidential campaign can’t even be discussed in U.S. newsmedia, because America’s media have been almost uniformly complicit all along in hiding from the American public the crucial factual information that’s necessary in order for the public to vote in an intelligent and truthfully informed way about it. No news medium wants to report its own having been complicit in anything; so, the cover-up here just continues; it has a life of its own, even though it’s a life that brings the world closer and closer to a situation which would kill billions of people, as things get increasingly out-of-control the longer this coverup continues. The cycle of virtually uniform lying thus persists, despite the growing danger it produces. This article will need to be lengthy, because the American public have been almost consistently lied-to about so many very important things — things associated with the nation’s central issue — an issue even bigger than terrorism, and than global warming, and than rising economic inequality and corruption, but which is still virtually ignored. This article is thus intended to be ‘Drano’ for a political system that has become clogged by lies just jammed down into it, now backing up and pouring out onto America’s political floor. The overflowing sludge has got to be cleaned up, and discarded. Or else — and very suddenly — it will kill us all.” Both of them are trying to distract us from the real issue that the US elite are going to murder all of us. Trump has also said he would release 100% evidence of his governments direct involvement it 9-11 as a false flag to attack Muslim countries and thus control their oil and gas distribution , murdering over one million people and displacing 6 million more.

Those brand new and immaculate tanToyota pick-up trucks and SUVs – just magically got shipped from Texas and landed in their laps?

The oil convoy’s magically eluded American Intelligence Agencies that funded ISIS? These Intelligence Agencies are the most sophisticated on the planet .

The American weapons they use just magically fell into their hands? Its all pure unadulterated rubbish.

The reason Bush was dragged into the “equation” is because Trump accused Obama of creating ISIS when every dog on the street knows it was Bush who created not just ISIS but had terrorists practically signing up to a whole new level of hatred.

I looked a little deeper and from what i can see, ISIS comes from ISI, Islamic State of Iraq, and when the crap blew up in Syria, they conveniently tagged Syria onto the end to form ISIS. It conveniently covers the two main regions where the allied forces operate,

ISIS is a name only used recently and the creation of it was during the Obama administration’s time in response to American intervention. It was created in response to the Obama led activities in the region and so it is like saying Ian Paisley was the number one recruitment officer for Provos.

people have to stop reading too much in to what Trump says sometimes. all it does is waste a load of confusion.

again, Obamas activities contributed to the creation of ISIS

And regarding the accusations that Trump in some way suggested that gun holders should shoot someone like Clinton. He never said that. That was grab as a sound bite for those people that don’t bother to form their own opinion, or are too much part of the herd to think other than what they are told to think. He meant that, a democrat led supreme court appointed by Clinton could change the second amendment and that, and the reaction from the NRA as a consequence, would create a bad day. If you want to stop it, then don’t vote for Clinton.

now, hands up all you now feel like part fo the herd?

RTE and all the fed media outlets are propagating a hate campaign against him.
He may be somewhat adolescent in his demeanor but what he says has a high degree of accuracy.

There is not a single mention of the corruption scandals that Clinton is involved in with unquestioning zombie repeater RTE “reports”. Not a single mention of the Arabic, banker and corporation controling of Clinton with donations and appointments.
I heard Catriona Perry report from the DNC with no mention of scandals but reporting on Hilary Clinton looking “glowing and beautiful”. This was preceded by a their daily out of context Trump attack.

Very true RTE are embarrassing – must give some credit to Pat Kenny though – caught the end of an interview on Newstalk yesterday, not sure who guest was, where they covered more of her scandals than I have heard anywhere else in national media – didn’t cover everything but I was still stunned to hear the foundation etc discussed on national airwaves.. happened to switch back on an hour later and we were back to usual with some guy from the Irish times raving on about golf courses and the baby incident.. !

the telling part is the list that does not support it. or those that are outright against it, the other 188, that is.

even when they went into Afghanistan cure the pipeline, and Iraq to secure the oil, the alliance was small but even by those standards a decade ago, when some just sending medical teams. and the list today has shrunk

Ireland should make Shannon available for that. China is a brutal dictatorship which invaded Tibet and leaves girl babies to die of hunger. Savages and they devalue their currency to undermine western business. They are allowed to dump steel on Europe destroying jobs. Russia is not democratic, being christian they tend to less cruel but they did invade Crimea. So Trump say he will talk with them and that is good. Chris is a typical product of modern brainwashing.

Admire your passion Val – genuine questions / points though – do you not think striring up Iran / middle east even further would be very risky? I’m a big fan of western civilisation but the world has become so small the west can’t just go poking hornets nests anymore..?! Iraq, Libya, Syria are testament to this. I am hoping against hope that Trump might take a slightly more isolationist approach. He seems inclined to detante with Russia which would be good. Russia is no angel but is in an almost different universe / experience to America – it has China, Iran, Ind/Pak etc etc etc all near its doorstep. America has Mexico and Canada – it can take stir crap up anywhere in the world and remain reasonably safe – russia is kind of surrounded..! (Cuba is kind of off the agenda at the moment – wonder which way it would line up at this stage) Again you are right about China and Iran but think the west is guilty of naivety at this stage thinking it can fix / change the world – wish we would just get back to protecting our borders and become a little more self sufficient.. anyway, a rambling point – just trying to offer another understanding / take on the russia thing..

Val the media are insufficiently focused on the negative side of Trump. It is only Trump’s utter megalomania and outlandish gaffes one after the other that have caused the media to focus on him at all. He has got away with saying the most hateful and untrue things with little focus from the media. I do not recall any media source inventing statements said to be made by him as you allege. Why would they need to do so ? He is the gift that keeps giving. I get that you must like Trump but this ability of his supporters to deny the reality of what the man actually says is remarkable.

Finally, Trump has still refused to release his tax returns. He is hiding something and that something is I suspect very big indeed. If Hillary or any other candidate had refused to release their tax returns the media would focus non-stop on them. Far from the media being hostile to Trump they have by and alrge been very lenient.

With so many companies, tax returns is complex and long winded, anyone in business knows that and the Revenue can come after him if they want. So tax is a non issue. He has said nothing which is not true when you remove the socialist democratic spin from it. He is not a racist and accept there are good muslims. He simply wants to vet immigrants properly. This was being done in the USA, Britain and Ireland up until about 15 years ago, and no one criticised it. He promises to re open coal mines and get the country back to work again, what is wrong with that, he promises to heavily tax imports to keep jobs at home. What is wrong with that? He promises to protect gay people and veterans of the services, what is wrong with that. He promises to appoint conservative judges to the supreme court. All sound policies. Then they lie saying he wants Hillary killed, he never said that. They are desperate because he is likely to win. It won’t suit Mary Robinson, Al Gore or Eamon Ryan, but their day is long past and a whole new order is near if he wins. If he loses, god help us all

Hillary Clinton made something similar of a claim about Obama back in 2008. Giving the reason as to why she wasn`t bowing out of the nomination race – Jeez but her and her advisors and MSM have really really short memories.
And remember this was when Obamas security detail had just been enhanced because of perceived threats.

Hillary Clinton cited the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy during the 1968 presidential campaign to explain why she was remaining in the race despite long odds.

“We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California,” Clinton told the editorial board of a South Dakota newspaper. ” I don’t understand it,” Clinton added, alluding to the calls for her to quit.

Clinton made the statement after pointing out that her husband didn’t lock up the nomination until June of 1992, trying to point out that, by past history, it’s not late in the campaign.

But Barack Obama received Secret Service protection one year ago, the earliest ever in presidential history, after reports of threats.

Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton said in a statement: “Sen. Clinton’s statement before the Argus Leader editorial board was unfortunate and has no place in this campaign.”

“Earlier today I was discussing the Democratic primary history and in the course of that discussion mentioned the campaigns that both my husband and Senator Kennedy waged in California in June 1992 and 1968 and I was referencing those to make the point that we have had nomination primary contests that go into June. That’s a historic fact. The Kennedys have been much on my mind the last days because of Senator Kennedy and I regret that if my referencing that moment of trauma for our entire nation, and particularly for the Kennedy family was in any way offensive. I certainly had no intention of that, whatsoever. My view is that we have to look to the past and to our leaders who have inspired us and give us a lot to live up to, and I’m honored to hold Senator Kennedy’s seat in the United States Senate from the state of New York and have the highest regard for the entire Kennedy family.”

Trump is a very angry man. In the early stages fir the Republican nomination, I thought that Trump was play acting and grandstanding so as to attract maximum media attention, behaving like a combination of an adolescent and the angry and hateful guy at the end of every American bar, at war with the world and full of incoherent prejudice. I thought that it was an act.

Now I’m starting to believe that Trump might actually be sincere in his crazed and irrational views. I’m starting to think that Trump may not be playing an act. This may be a real case of “what you see is what you get”.

In the highly unlikely circumstances that Trump is elected, the U.S. will deserve him because they will have seen him fir what he is and have voterd for him.

I feel a sense of sleaze and nastiness every time I hear Trump. He makes my skin crawl. His views make no pretence at rationality or proportionality.,

There is a sort of Gotham City at large about this. In the event of a nightmare of a Trump presidency, the Trump brand will be on everything. It will be branding and mercantilism gone mad.

Trump will do crazy things if he is President and then leverage all of this for financial gain. Trump’s Presidency will be like a super franchise, everything and everyone for sale in the middle of chaotic policies and a paranoiac egotist railing against the tight limitations of his Presidential office. (The checks and balances in the US political system will restrain the worst excesses.)

Never was there a candidate less temperamentally, morally, ethically and philosophically unsuited to the role of President of the United States of America.

Only those overwhelmed by anger, hate and nihilism will vote for Trump.

Is it not clear by now that this is all a set up? Trump and Clinton are best friends, their children are best friends, although they’ve been told to deny it. Trump is only running to ensure that Clinton gets in. He’ll act even crazier over the next while to lose further votes. If he’d wanted to win, his gob would have been closed for the last month. He had a huge lead. This is a complete ready-up and it’s mindblowing how the majority of the American electorate can’t see this.

Well Obama was quick to call Clinton a pathological liar and inept politician during their confrontations during the 2008 campaign, now he’s perfectly fine with endorsing that same pathological liar and telling Americans how she’ll make a great candidate for the presidency.

Politics is a pretty close-nit family. They’ll say anything publicly to win but they’ll go right back to the wine glasses and shared family dinners after the fact.

Not quite clear yet but becoming a little clearer but if they were devious enoigh to be in cahoots they are probably devious enough to turn / have already turned on each other.. Even if it becomes clear that they are – people would still probably take their chances with their existing preference! Just for s ake of debate and not admit g conspiracy theory – who would actually be worse in the situation that is it a stitch up? – However if independent candidate “Inaminate Carbon Rod” was able to get any mainstream media coverage – it would win by a landslide!

My god, Shane is suffering from a severe delusion. What happened our education system?. Trump is independently wealthy and can’t bought off. He insults those who deserve to be insulted and some who don’;t, but insulting these jerks is an essential part of putting power back in the hands of the ordinary people. Its the same as the UK referendum, all the high brow millionaires were out voted by the plain people for the better good.

The campaign gives a rare opportunity to get the message across that I and many others have been prevented from doing. If America is weak we have no body to protect us, its that simple. If Hillary wins she will be sleeping while policy is make for her and that policy will not be for us

WOW Val, brilliant! Are you medically qualified to label me like this? If not, maybe you ought not to as I can’t respect or follow your medical diagnosis if not. I have my own Doc that satisfies these requirements. Also, I wouldn’t be inclined to cast even further aspersions on our education system if I was you. Not sure that you need to know my “qualifications” nor my IQ score (which in my mind doesn’t reflect actual intelligence if you study the provenance of the tests), but yeah, it has been measured to be extremely high if you get your kicks out of that. I don’t as neither my degree nor IQ are a true measure of intelligence. I might retort with actual facts as regards what sounds like deep rooted paranoia. Who is going to attack you/America? You have 90% of the world’s nuclear arsenal. Don’t you have enough of a deterrant there? I’m out of this now. Obviously the fact that you’re unaware of the fact that the fix is in must mean that I’m privy to information that you may not be aware of but don’t let that bother you, as you can’t be aware of everything Val.

There is a hidden agreement among the worlds political parties to keep the subject of climate change off the debates during election campaigns. Never mentioned in the British or Irish general election run ups. Now independently minded Trump comes out to promise he will re-open coal mines shut down by Obama and return to fossil fuel to create jobs. The obvious response from the Hillary camp (she has already backed measures to cut greenhouse gasses) is to say that Trump’s proposals will cause climate change. This would in turn open up the debate between Hillary and Trump and even force it to become a topic during televised debates. If I am correct, that the whole climate change thing is a ponzi scheme designed by big vested interests to tax the living daylights out of the people and that no one can substantiate the scientific theory behind it, then Hillary will be unable to discuss and back it up. This could cause the public and some media to move the topic to the forefront of the campaign and in doing so encourage more debate. All ponzi schemes end when some media outlet points out that there is no financial or business reason to continue paying for it. Keep this in mind from now to November. If correct it proves climate change is a hoax. If not a hoax, it cannot be backed up by existing data they cannot allow it be debated. It cost more than all internet shopping annually and hits the poor hardest. It kills jobs in Europe handing them to China and India. Surely it reasonable to expect it a topic in the US presidential campaign. Hopefully you will now take a fresh look at this as the campaign unfolds. You can watch Fox News on you internet for a small fee of about 10 euros a month for average viewing time. We are being censored in Ireland and Britain, but as usual the Americans don’t do censorship very well.

Let’s hope you are always young and healthy and that when you are in your sixties you will be as physically fit and active as Hillary Clinton. Anyway, one of the greatest American Presidents ever. Franklin Delano Roosevelt, was wheelchair-bound, but still led his country to victory in the Second World War. I suppose you would mock his (real) disability just as you sneer at the disabilities you imagine (or hope for) in Hillary Clinton.

All whats happening could of been stopped all cause of natural resources and deals between the the EU the USA and the UK this why Obama said the UK should stay in EU not cause a deal wont happen it just makes more paper work another front company more legal work and fees cause we left nothing to do with peoples lives and freedoms. There were loads of calls from Gaddafi to Nub 10 looking for help but the USA said leave him be.

Then with Afghanistan loads were allowed free pass to Iraq we the USA left huge faults of weapons open so they cold be taken by IS and Libyan was not the only Africa country with this problem of IS groups many others to mainly were Chinese were working and were actual doing some good with keeping things stay stable they could of easily fraught but just closed up and not added to steering the pot.

Obama may of been in Government it was started by other governments incl the UK but Obama kept it going, but would of Trump do any different, maybe he might of not brought it to the EU or is own shores.

In fairness to Obama, he did not found ISIS, that honour is given to George W Bush and Tony Blair. However, Obama advanced ISIS by killing Gaddafi in Libya where ISIS now runs amok. Obama’s objective is to destroy Israel. The objective of all European parties and the American Democratic party and some of the Republican party is to build a socialist democracy where voters can have any politicians they chose so long as they are socialist democrats with green policy run by bankers and renewable energy opportunists. Trump has them in a tizzy because he challenges socialist democracy. UKIP is similar. I think Trump will get elected and then a witch hunt will begin against socialist democrats when their threatuary is exposed.

The 2nd amendment is also a huge threat to social democrats which is why they want to take away the guns and build their dictatorship.
