IT WAS ONE of the biggest fires in Chicago in years.
More than 170 firefighters were called to the scene on the south side of Chicago last night where a warehouse was on fire. However the freezing cold – the temperature has dropped as low as – 8 in Chicago this week – made the task extra difficult.
Firefighters’ equipment froze and icicles formed on the hoses as they tried to extinguish the blaze. The ice added extra weight to the ladders used to get close to the building. The warehouse itself ended up covered in ice as the liquid used to extinguish the fire froze, encasing the entire building.

I heard an interview the other day on coast to coast fm, some weather scientist was talking about “how our planet is slowly entering a mini ice age”.
Bro lives in Chicago, winters ain’t pretty but they’re summers make up for it more then enough!
Wow. The last three photos in particular are amazing.
Im about an hour south of there right now, its cold, but its no mini Ice Age. We would normally have a bunch of snow by now, but theres nothing atall.
I live south of there too(south side Irish)..today felt like a heat wave compared to Monday and Tuesday ..bring on the 90 degree weather !!!!!
