Bruce Springsteen to wreck Ireland for two dates in July

The legendary rocker will visit Kilkenny on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 July this year for the Wrecking Ball Weekender.

28 YEARS AFTER his first gig in Ireland, Bruce is back – and he’s aiming to wreck the joint.

The legendary musician Bruce Springsteen will visit Ireland during his Wrecking Ball Tour, and not content with playing one date here, he has decided to turn the event into a weekender.

Springsteen and the E Street Band will end their European tour with two performances in Nowlan Park, Kilkenny on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 July. It will be a full weekend of entertainment, as the doors to the event will open at 12.30pm each day.

Before Bruce even hits the stage, the crowd will be treated to hours of entertainment from Irish artists, making the one-day ticket prices – €90 general admission or €100 seated – even more worth it.

On the Saturday, there will be performances from Glen Hansard and Damien Dempsey, while Imelda May and LAPD (featuring even more legendary musicians in the form of Liam O’Flynn, Andy Irvine, Paddy Glackin and Dónal Lunny) will take to the stage before Bruce and band on the Sunday.

There will be special buses laid on to transport audiences from Dublin to Kilkenny and back each day, and all of the details on transport, tickets and more can be found on the dedicated site WreckingBallWeekender.com.

Tickets are available from Ticketmaster outlets nationwide, with 24-hour credit card bookings via 0818 719300 (ROI)/0844 277 4455 (NI) or online via www.ticketmaster.ie

Wonder if we’ll see a cute performance like this in July?

It depends on what you call a robot because the Luddites were pretty violent on what technically were robots

Thank god it’s not one of DOB’s robots or his lawyers would have sent the kids an angry letter.

There parents should have given them hammers. That thing will probably do them all out of a job in the future.

Because human empathy is dying off. Have you seen the violence in some of the computer games and cartoons? Tom and Jerry? Hit people you don’t like with anything available. Your hands included. What a wonderful world.

Please, tell me more about this pre-video game/cartoon world where human empathy was so much more prevalent, there was no violence and it rained jelly babies.

While I agree that some video games are far too violent, to lump Tom & Jerry into this is just crazy.

Haha, it’s really not that crazy! The original Tom & Jerry’s that they show on Boomerang are ridiculously violent, especially when you consider the target age groups.
