GARDAÍ IN GORT continue to investigate the alleged abduction of property developer Kevin Michael McGeever.
The bizarre disappearance and reappearance of the 68-year-old remains shrouded in mystery.
The businessman, who had been reported missing in May last year, was found on a Leitrim roadside on Tuesday in ill-health, with no shoes and the word ‘thief’ etched into his forehead.
He was taken to Mullingar General Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries.
Investigating Gardaí have set up an incident room in Galway and have asked anyone with information about the alleged abduction from a house in Craughwell to come forward.
Catherine Valley and Pat Rehill, the man and woman who found McGeever on Tuesday evening told RTÉ News that they phoned a friend whose number was stored in the mobile he carried. However the man was not interested in coming to pick him up, according to Valley.
“I thought he was thumbing…so I picked him up and was really surprised when he said three men had thrown him out of a van and wrapped him in a sheet.”
“He had no idea where he was, what day it was, or what time it was,” added Rehill. “He really looked in bad shape. He was like a skeleton.”
McGeever claims he was kidnapped at gunpoint from his Galway home on 27 May 2012. CCTV footage from that time is now being gathered by Gardaí, who will formally question the businessman in the coming days.
McGeever runs KMM International Properties, which has been involved in the property scene in Dubai since around 2001.

But if Kim has no problem with this and can overlook Leo’s faults and failings to the irish people so be it

Funny how a guy that’s worshipped so much in North Korea is so scared that he has to take secret trips abroad. Thought he’d be a guy for full state honours when he travels abroad. But then the north Koreans probably don’t even know he’s gone!
