The Script, Bono, Christy Moore and Seamus Heaney will be among the artists performing on ‘Glaoch’ on March 17.

ÁRAS AN UACHTARÁIN played host to a host of well-known faces last week for the filming of a special broadcast to go out on St Patrick’s Day.

Bono, Christy Moore and Seamus Heaney were among the faces present for the filming of ‘Glaoch – the President’s Call’.

The programme is a joint effort between RTÉ and The Gathering, and aims to celebrate “Irishness, Irish creativity and its reach and impact across the world”.

Said RTÉ:

The special programme features President Higgins in conversation with Bono, Séamus Heaney, Druid Theatre’s Garry Hynes and playwright Tom Murphy and Christy Moore.

There are music performances from Steve Cooney, Glen Hansard, Lisa Hannigan, Martin Hayes, Imelda May, Christy Moore, Róisín O, Iarla O Lionaird, Peadar O Riada, David Power and The Script.

The programme will be broadcast on RTÉ.ie at 9:30pm (Irish time) on March 17, and will also be streamed live on YouTube so it can be watched by expatriates around the world. It will air on TV the following day.
