They say they are paratroopers who found themselves accidentally on the other side of the border. I’m sorry, but I have never found myself accidentally 20-30 km from where I’m supposed to be, and yet these guys are supposed to be experts in navigation. The signposts would have been in Ukrainian and Russian for a start, unlike in Russia where they are solely in Russian. A cursory glance at their phone’s GPS or Glonass would have also confirmed Ukraine. Either they are some of the most incompetent paratroopers the world has heard of, or they were there deliberately.

@ Avina Laaf… No accident, I believe it was to show Kiev’s propaganda for what it is, hundreds of Ukraine soldiers crossed into Russia to avoid death over the past few months and, Kiev screams blue murder. It makes a mockery of western media coverage of events and truth there, that has to be good.

They are waiting for new instructions from Moscow. I have just read that those soldiers are going to be named as deserters. Some of the dead ones were buried in Russia yesterday. As per official Russia “they died from stroke”. And according to “Union of soldier’s Mothers” organization in Russia 11 dead soldiers were fired from the army on the back date.
Avina I’m here. Still waiting for evidence on MH17. I think what this proves is that if the Ukrainians had any they’d be parading it around the TVs, therefore it’s obvious the Russians and the rebels had nothing to do with it. Obviously these lads are told exactly what to say, plenty of similar examples from the other side, including when 400 Ukrainians ended up in Russia. In relation to 400 UA soldiers.
1. They were surrounded and shelled by heavy guns from rebels side and from Russia. They run out of ammunition and food. Most of their equipment was destroyed by heavy artillery and GRAD.
2.I have posted pictures of people tortured by the separatists.
3.There is no official war between Russia and Ukraine they decided to cross the border to Russia. First news about this appeared in Russian media thinking about big PR win. But none of the UA soldiers from this group asked for asylum in Russia despite the knowledge there will be investigation in Ukraine as the main battle group fought they way out of encirclement.
4.Russian Border Guard was informed and negotiations started. As per agreement they had to enter Russia unarmed. They destroyed all they weapons incl. AK’s so the rebels won’t captured it.
5.They crossed the border with Russia under supervision of the Russian Border G. and completely unarmed.
6.Ukrainian G. confirmed that the soldiers had to retreat to Russia and the upper command was informed. All the soldiers were wearing UA insignia.
Russian Case.
1. Soldiers captured more then 30km inside the Ukrainian Teritory.
2.Border Guard or UA was not informed.
3.Soldiers were armedm, APC had live amunition and the main group escaped and continue to fight near Illovaysk.
4.No RA insignia on uniforms or APC. The insignia on APC’s was repainted in white.

5. After clear evidence they said they lost.

The guy’s seem like they are Russian soldiers but reading their statements it seems some kind of torture or mistreatment was used. For example, “I understood that they had sent us for military operations against people that we shouldn’t be fighting against.”, no sane Russian soldier who expects to return home would say something like that because 1. Considering nearly the whole of Russia’s population support armed intervention in Ukraine, Russian soldiers (who are probably going to be extremely patriotic) are nearly certain to want to fight in Ukraine 2. Any soldier who said that knows himself and his family would be punished for co-operating with his captors.
John. The OSCE would have checked them for ill treatment. And before you go on about the OSCE being a NATO stooped Russia is also a member of the OSCE.

John there is not a single peace of credible evidence of Ukrainian Army torturing somebody. The funny thing is that Russian propaganda lies about “bloodthirsty fascists” and evil “Banderovcy” working so well that you do not need to torture anybody. There was a case when one of “Azov” battalion which Russian propaganda condemned as “Nazi’s” (it was on BBC as well”) captured 18 separatists one of which was “Youth development officer for Russian Kuban Kassaks”. So Ukrainian soldiers recommended to bring them to psychiatrist because they refused to eat cause they thought the Ukrainians were feeding them and then were going to cut for “organs” to sell they parts to the Western clinics. They refused to take a shower as well cause they thought the Ukr. were going to wash them with acid.

Re. Azov battalion, you obviously missed yesterday’s piece about the Azov that said that many members of the battalion are ethnic Russians from East Ukraine. When interviewed they said they took up arms to defend their homeland against what they called “Russian terrorists”. Go figure.
@ Alek Savitskyy.. There is plenty of proof, mostly it is done by members of the right wing paramilitary. Of all the hundreds of Ukrainian soldiers that had to flee to safety across the Russian borde to escape from the freedom fighters, many have been held and face charges in Russia of crimes. The right wing battalions are fleeing the east because the Uki army is turning on them and turning them in. They will face justice when this little putsch is over.

Glen, the fact that Russian soldiers crossed over the border could be seen as a act of war by some but you twist it around saying that if the Ukrainians don’t turn them over then that would cause Russia to attack. But it was the Russians who caused the problem by crossing into sovereign territory. Can you not see that?

If the had been captured 1 or 2 Km inside the Ukrainian border Moscows fairytale may have been slightly credible but they were caught 30 Km inside Ukraine!!! But Russia has been caught red handed with identifable troops inside of Ukraine in a region where an anti terrorist operation is taking place against Pro Russian terrorists.

Mitch, they are armed. It was an illegal incursion into sovereign territory by members of the armed forces of a country who have already annexed part of that country. They should be held and questioned about their intentions.

Kenneth, I’m with you here, I meant according to the USSR, or Putins attempt to reclaim the old empire. This is war by proxy, not a declared and open war. The people of Crimea and wider Ukraine are in a war, not just one that’s acknowledged by the wider world.

Well for a start avina , the sanctions imposed on Russia but I guess the powers to be didn’t expect Putin to put a ban on all exports .. Great move , just proves to me he’s a strong leader. Irish farmers stand to lose over 200 million coz of this move , but I guess we are all part of the great EU :)

Putin sees anything that stands in his way of a new Russian Empire and him as the new Tzar as a threat. Russia has never viewed Ukraine as an independent sovereign state. It looks at more like a rebellious province which needs to be brought to heel and back into the Empire.

Wheels are in motion already , state are already talking of selling off assets to pay off the EU debt .

Mick , it’s fair to say that bankers are running this world , it’s fair to say the federal reserve is the rulers behind Obama , in the monetary system we live by , money is worth more than human life .. The world is a stage , we are sheep only existing . A war with Russia will be worth trillions , get everyone back to work . I can see it cos my mind is not blurred by politics or god for which I don’t believe in either . Chris. Were the Ukrainian troops armed and in an armoured column? Or were they unarmed and on foot with many wounded after being shelled by Russian Heavy artillery for days?

Chris. They weren’t armed. They destroyed all their weapons before crossing the border to avoid being accused by the Russians of an armed insertion. And the captured Russians said that the arrived in AFV’s ie: Armoured Fighting Vehicles.

Even the regime media reported on the 450 armed troops crossing the Russian border, funny thing about that, they handed over right sector paramilitary fighters to the Russians for investigation for war crimes, when the Uki army is turning to Russia for justice, the Quislings in Kiev have lost the war.
