GARDAÍ IN DUBLIN have confirmed that they are treating the death of Latvian national Deniss Timosejevs, whose body was found in a field outside Swords this week, as suspicious.
The 22-year-old’s body was found on Tuesday afternoon and was removed to St Columcille’s Hospital, Loughlinstown, where a post-mortem examination was carried out yesterday. However gardaí said the results of the post-mortem will not be released for operational reasons.
Timosejevs was last seen walking in the Thornleigh area of Applewood Village on Monday evening.
When last seen he was wearing a distinctive orange and black coloured bomber-style jacket (as seen in the picture) and a football scarf. He was described as approximately 5’ in height and of slight build. Gardaí are in particular appealing to anyone who may have observed a male fitting this description in the Swords and Balheary areas between Monday evening and Tuesday afternoon to contact them.
Investigating gardaí are also trying to locate a number of personal items missing belonging to the man including a Latvian driving licence and bank card bearing his name and a Sony mobile phone.

@Dave Barrett: It doesn’t have anywhere near the sort of contagiousness as covid. You need to be rather intimate, so to speak. But that this crops up now nonetheless underscores the increasing risks we’re experiencing as a species by coming into contact with mother nature’s vast arsenal of viruses. This will only get worse as there are increasingly more of us, increasingly encroaching into natural habitats (agriculture, mining, bushmeat), and increasingly being huddled together and traveling, while mother nature’s arsenal has evolved as a way to control a species outbreak (which is us).
