DUBLIN-BASED ADVERTISING AGENCY Rothco have brought a little something different to their latest ad.
Their 30-second advertisement for AIB’s mobile banking app shows a portion of a train journey as it passes Dublin’s Custom House, crosses the Liffey and enters Tara Street station.
What’s helped make the ad really stand out, however, is the fact that it was shot entirely using an iPhone 5.
Creative director Damian Hanley told Mashable that while “it was a big decision” to shoot the ad using the iPhone, preliminary tests had shown that it was “able to deliver high quality footage.”
So just how good can an ad look when shot using the smartphone in your pocket? Here’s the proof (with bonus music from Dublin band Delorentos):

Only for it is mentioned in every article about the ad that it was shot on a phone nobody would know it! So hard to see how that makes it stand out!

All the same, AIB is far more brutal. Only about 20 people killed in the making of that video; AIB and friends have driven far more to suicide.
With all the apple promotion lately Journal, at least stop trying to hide it. Fair enough, revenue is needed, but puh-leeease.
