A LARGE CHUNK of fragment of one of two airplanes that slammed into the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 has been found wedged between two office buildings in lower Manhattan, New York.
The buildings, at 51 Park Place and 50 Murray Street, are located just two blocks from the site of the attacks known as Ground Zero.
Only a very narrow space exists between the buildings, which could explain how the part eluded investigators for nearly 12 years.
Police said the plane fragment appeared to be “part of a landing gear, apparently from one of the commercial airliners destroyed on September 11, 2001″.
And the part bears a “clearly visible” Boeing identification number, according to police spokesman Paul Browne. Although police would not confirm the size of the piece, NBC television reported it was about five feet long.

Authorities said it will not be removed until the area has been thoroughly examined, including for possible human remains.
“The NYPD is securing the location as it would a crime scene, documenting it photographically and restricting access until the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner completes its health and safety evaluation protocol, after which a decision will be made concerning sifting the soil for possible human remains,” Browne said in a statement.
The aircraft was one of two hijacked 12 years ago by Al-Qaeda suicide attackers and flown into the Twin Towers, destroying two of the nation’s most iconic buildings.
Authorities were alerted to the chunk of wreckage on Wednesday after surveyors found what they believed was damaged machinery at the rear of 51 Park Place.
The attacks killed 2,753 people at Ground Zero. In coordinated attacks, another plane smashed into the Pentagon while a fourth crashed in Pennsylvania.
No remains of 1,122 of the victims in New York have ever been found, according to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Since 2006, authorities have selected 6,134 bone fragments and 1,845 other remains for advanced DNA testing, which has led to the identification of 34 victims.

By thinking logically of course. You should try it. The fuel on a plane is stored in & around the wings. On impact the wings would have exploded, and the cockpit (where the pilot holding said passport presumably would have been located) would have continued its course at high speed into the building. Different parts of the plane were scattered over a large area when the towers came down. Do u think the chaps got onto the plane with no passport? I’d love to hear your theory on how it was discovered!!

Anybody notice the rope wrapped around it? Not part of most aircraft landing gears! Apparently there is the remains of a pulley system that may have been used to lower it into place and no marks on the walls leading down that you’d expect if it fell in there at speed. If you’ve visited Ground Zero Memorial Site to this day, then you begin to understand and think a little more, the mood is very sombre and downbeat to this very day, and you begin to respect the victims and how terrible that day was for New York. Walking through St. Paul’s Cathedral to this day is like walking through a wake. It was very sad.

They didn’t, the landing gear likely blew out of the fuselage when it impacted the Twin Towers.
The small gap that it was in was apparently enough to explain why it wasn’t noticed for 12 years. Doesn’t say a lot for the quality of the forensic searches around the area. However, letting that go it begs the next question:
How did it bloody well get in there in the first place without some serious damage to the buildings either side of the tiny gap it was in?

The thing about all these “coincidences” and “flukes” is that some people tend to only offer the benefit of the doubt to their “own side” – whereas the slightest suggestion of a perceived “enemy” to be lying, cheating or using WMDs, chemical weapons or whatever and people are screaming for their head on a plate.

A plane was meant to fly into the pentagon but left a small hole.Surley the engines,(which are the heaviest part of a plane) would leave two holes in the building.,but lets not talk about that,we’ll talk about eastenders instead.

There’s a difference between a large jet filled with jet fuel vaporising, and a large jet filled with jet fuel exploding!! That stuff burns much hotter than your average Bic lighter!! Hence the fact that over a thousand people’s remains will never be found.
Joe. Lets look at that. The Pentagon is a five sided building as the name would suggest. It is also built in several layers receding towards the center. Above ground level it is only 5 stories high. And because it is the Military HQ for all Americas forces was designed and built to minimize the damage from bomb blasts.
Now the plane was diving from 30,000 feet. So think about the angle its going to have to come in at to hit a 5 storey building. Most of the force of the impact is going to be directed downwards due to the angle of the impact. And add to that the walls of the Pentagon are made from very thick reinforced concrete unlike the Towers which were mainly glass and steel.

In theory, you would think that, wouldn’t you? If that we’re the case there would still be big piles of melted metals, that wasn’t the case. They found human remains at both other crash sites, but no jet remains, amazingly convenient! Then again, I’m only questioning and commenting on blatantly obvious facts and observations.

The angle the plane came in at hit the ground in front of the building and the force of a big jet coming it at high speed pancaked the plane into a small area that had over 100m deep of reinforced concrete in front of it. So common sense would lead to the belief that the remains were concentrated into a very small area!! Accept that you’re wrong and move onto a thread about happy cats or something you can relate to!!

Pilots including ex military and comercial have come out in huge numbers and formed a group called “pilots for 9/11 truth” because of the fantasy laid down as the official theory regarding flight 77 . It just could not have happened that way.
But defenders of the now official conspiracy theory just attack the people that asked valid questions of it. The offcial theory just does not stand up to scrutiny….Because just like Bld 7 doesn’t make sence to the experts.

You conspiracy guys crack me up. A few years ago I kind of made a bit of a hobby of debunking 911 conspiracy theories. I was under the impression that conspiracy theorists were just misled or mistaken and that once I showed them precisely how they were wrong they would accept it and move on. But I soon realised that even in the face of overwhelming evidence they could not change their mind. They’d simply move on to some other “evidence” and then infuriatingly repeat some nonsense that I already showed them to be completely wrong. They were always “just asking questions” but I always found it funny how they never seemed to like it when the answers conflicted with their predetermined conclusions. So I just decided to leave them to their nonsense cause the arguments were getting stale and they were happy to hold their beliefs and weren’t too much interested changing their minds in light of the actual facts. I tell you all this because I think it’s important to know from the beginning that these arguments are mostly pointless. The best you are do when arguing with conspiracy theorists is hope to prevent others believing their misinformation (especially in a public forum like this) and maybe even plant a seed of doubt in their minds that will allow them to admit they’re wrong to themselves in the future but save face in the present. The best question you can ask, instead of jumping around from topic to topic, is “what, to you, is the single greatest piece of evidence you have that leads you to think there was a conspiracy or to at least ask questions along those lines?”. Then stick to that topic at all costs and see where it leads you.
The conspiracy but jobs don’t need any more evidence. We just need people to open their eyes to the evidence clearly before them. If you explain why WTC 7 came down I ll be delighted to hear it.

Jet fuel can not burn at a high enough temperature to melt steal, it MAY weaken it some but never hot enough to melt. And yet molten steel was found in the wreckage. The building should never have collapsed at a free fall rate into its own footprint

Seriously guys if you’re going to be conspiracy theorists you could at least have done the required reading! Have you not read NIST’s final report on WTC7′s collapse? Of course in any crime you must first establish a motive and in the case of WTC7 none have been presented that aren’t laughably dismissed at face value e.g. to destroy evidence/the control room for the attack/sensitive files of cases being investigated that they wanted gone. In any case it’s pure conjecture that takes a real special mind to believe. But structurally speaking I will explain in as concise a manner as possible:
WT7 was set on fire from debris hitting it from the collapsing twin towers. Due to significant damage to water system in the area the fire suppression systems in the building weren’t working and fire fighters couldn’t get access to water to fight the fires. In any case they were busy trying to rescue people and weren’t too worried about an empty building so it was allowed to burn for several hours. The design of WTC7 called for long span composite floor beams for the outer floor office space. In some locations these beams weren’t connected directly to a column but were asymmetrically framed into other beams which were then in turn connected to columns. Because the fire was allowed to burn out of control it eventually made it’s way to one of these points where it heated the steel much quicker than the concrete floor (which has a larger mass and lower thermal conductivity) thus causing the steel to expand relative to the concrete. This caused the shear studs, which connect the steel beam to the concrete and thus make them act compositely, to fail and for the beam to expand freely and thus it exerted a large force on the beam it was connected to at the end, which I’d imagine took the brunt of this expansion due to the relative stiffnesses of the supports. This lateral force caused the beam supporting it to fail at its connection to the column (column 79) and the floors below too. This left column 79 laterally unsupported over a significantly larger length and considering the buckling strength of a column is inversely proportional to the square of its effective length then it becomes a big problem. Column 79 failed, which can be seen in the video footage as the failure of the penthouse several seconds before visible global collapse. But in reality there was a progressive internal failure happing at this time and at a certain point the outer shell was left unsupported and began to move down too with very little resistance as the guts of the internal structure had already collapsed.

An office fire with jet fuel CAN NOT melt steal to the extent that it will bring down a building. The only 3 examples of this happening just happen to be WTC 1,2 and 7… how convenient. In 2005 an office fire raged in the Madrid Windsor Tower for over 24 hours and yet it only partially collapsed. After burning for over 24 hours and yet WTC 1 and 2 burnt for less than 2 hours and both collapsed at free fall speeds. The buildings were demolished. The same goes with aircraft vaporising after crashing. It just doesn’t happen and yet on September 11th 2001, the 4 aircraft involved vaporised. How convenient again. The official story does not add up. Yes planes crashed into the towers, yes lots of people died. yes the towers collapsed. But the fact remains, the towers should never have collapsed, especially WTC 7.

Steel does not have to melt to fail. Steel can lose significant strength at temperatures far below its melting point. This is a scientific fact beyond repute. The idea that the steel had to melt is so old it is actually ridiculously that you are talking about it in 2013. Any conspiracy theorist in the know these days knows to avoid it because it’s so easy to debunk that’d they’ve actually accepted it as true and it’s a bit embarrassing they believed it.
As for Windsor Tower you are conveniently ignoring the fact that the part of the structure that collapsed was steel and that the reinforced concrete core (which wasn’t present in the WTC7 buildings) remained intact. Only the upper floors of Windsor Tower were steel so as to allow for any future additions to be easier. These floors collapsed.
WTC1/2 didn’t fall at free fall speed. Seriously have you only watched the first edition of loose change or something? The planes were also made of mostly aluminium, and the fires were hot enough to melt that.
I already explained the mechanism of WTC7′s collapse so you’re assertions that it couldn’t have happened mean nothing.
Peter you said yourself that aviation fuel can burn hot enough to Soften steel.
How is this for a theory. After the planes hit the towers burning aviation fuel began pouring down stair wells, elevator shafts and other cracks in the damaged building. Softening steel girders. Now the weight of the floors above the crash were bearing down on already softened supports and they gave way. The weight of those floors hitting the floors below would have buckled the steel supports of the lower floors thus collapsing them and acting like a concertina as each floor plus the combined weight of all the preceding floors collapsed the buildings.
Did the investigations not find that some time (days?) after the incident the temperatures at Ground Zero were much hotter than burnt aviation fuel can even reach, but were were well within the limits reached by material subject to demolition explosives? Just asking…

How is it that of all the people working in both towers nobody noticed anybody drilling holes in support columns to place the explosives and all the wiring that would be required to link the explosives to get them to fire at the same time? Were they invisible?

Leigh. You brought up demolition explosives. I just explained that it would have been near impossible to plant those explosives without anyone noticing.
Pony. Lets for the sake of this discussion say it was a missile. Now if it was a bunker buster it would have traveled through the first outer building and exploded either between the first and second rings or penetrated the second ring and exploded there. That obviously didn’t happen because there is not enough damage to the second ring for either result. So we can count out a bunker buster bomb. So we look at a conventional high explosive missile. It would account for the damage to the front of the outer building but not the damage to the second and third rings. Why I hear you ask. Well the explosive force would have been mainly absorbed by the first building and there wouldn’t have been such a clean hole from high explosives. So you need a cruise type missile roughly the size of a commercial airliner loaded with nothing but fuel. But there again you come up with a problem. A missile that large would be visible to radar. And every civilian radar station in America was on high alert at this stage. So every radar operator in the North East would have seen it. But nobody saw it.
And then there are the eye witnesses that saw the airliner minutes before the crash.
So I think we can safely discount the missile theory.

@Mick, most radars today are MSSR (Monopulse secondary surveillance radars) meaning to see anything on a radar screen, a transponder is needed to see it. if the transponder is turned off, you see nothing on the screen.

For the love of Jaysus Martin I did answer the question. I explained how it collapsed and how the motives brought forward to explain why they would want to bring it down are ridiculous, akin to swatting a fly with a bazooka. The US media don’t deny it happened they are mainly apathetic to its collapse as it’s a non news story of an event that happened 12 years ago that they covered at the time and was explained satisfactorily to the majority of experts who accept NIST’s final conclusions on how it collapsed. They also don’t speak about, and most people don’t know about, the collapse/partial collapse of WTC3/4/5/6. Only in the minds of people like you has the collapse of WTC7 gained some significant meaning.
I’m not saying you can’t ask questions but you guys get stuck in these weird non-issue areas where you are for the most part technically mistaken on your conclusions because you start with them and then try to find facts that fit and conveniently ignore the ones that don’t. You should subject your ideas to Occam’s Razor; the simplest explanation is the most likely. Your convoluted fantasies are so out-there that most people dismiss them off hand as being inherently ridiculous. It’s not that they’re sheep but rather the product you’re trying to sell them is obviously pure sh1te.
The basic premise of all of these arguments is that the US orchestrated the attack as a false flag operation so they could go to war with Iraq and keep the US in a state of fear so that’d they’d have carte blanche policy-wise. The fact that they made most of the terrorists in their little plot Saudis is a fact you like to ignore. They had to try real hard to connect Iraq to terrorists. If they were the author of events you’d think they’d have set it up to be far clearer.
I’ll never understand why you guys went with MIHOP instead of LIHOP as it would be so much easier to argue the latter. Well actually I do; most of you guys got into the conspiracy because the collapse of the twin towers didn’t look right to you so you went with the demolition idea and the rest followed to fit that predetermined conclusion. LIHOP would make far more sense as there are always people looking to attack the US; why would you have to plan such a complicated scheme when you could just let others do what they want to do and you’d have no visible hand in it? I’m being generous as, despite the Bush administration being a bunch of evil war criminals, it’d be hard to even pin that on them. But maybe they underestimated the scope of the attack, hence Bush’s stunned face in that elementary school. I’m just playing devil’s advocate here but I think I’ve already demonstrated a far more believable conspiracy than the one you guys peddle.
Martin – this is the first time I ever commented on a conspiracy theory. So less of the “usual suspects” please. I find them amusing to say the least. Having watched several independently made documentaries it is quite clear to rational people, as someone one has mentioned above, that Arab terrorists ran two planes packed with aviation fuel into two buildings at 400mph+.
Are there some things that could be classed as “conspiracies”? Possibly. But 9/11 is not one of them. A bunch of thugs in frocks who wish to undermine our freedoms convinced a w nut jobs to do this. Mick most local airports use procedural control with no radar. it is a set of specific instructions to make an approach to the airports using navigation aids such as NDB’s and VOR’s. In Ireland, being an air traffic controller, there is only radar approaches at Cork, Dublin and Shannon, the rest Donegal, Sligo, Knock, Galway, Kerry and Waterford and non radar procedural approaches
