The 9 at 9 Good morning! Here are the nine things you need to know as you kick off your Sunday morning.

EVERY MORNING, TheJournal.ie brings you the nine things you need to know as you start your day.

1. #ABORTION: According to the Sunday Times, a number of Fine Gael TDs are planning to force the coalition to abandon planned abortion legislation by building a “critical mass” of deputies and senators to vote against it.

The front page of the Sunday Independent also leads with the abortion issue, quoting extensively from recordings of pro-choice Labour politicians.

2. #RELATIONS: There will be no Sunday siesta for Taoiseach Enda Kenny today as he is in Spain for meetings with Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy and German finance minister Wolfgang Schauble. He will also deliver a speech entitled, “Rebuilding Europe: How should, can the EU move on after the crisis?”

3. #DISASTER: The death toll in the building collapse disaster in Bangladesh is expected to rise from its current 363 as hopes for survivors fade. Workers have described how the complex developed cracks a day before the tragedy but bosses ordered staff to return to the production lines. The two engineers who gave the all-clear after an inspection have been arrested.

4. #INTERVIEW: “Do we really need two-and-a-half hours of religion class per week?” That was the question posed by Ruairí Quinn to teachers recently. Earlier this week, the Minister sat down with TheJournal.ie to talk about patronage, college fees and attending Margaret Thatcher’s funeral.

5. #WHO ARE THE BONDHOLDERS? A Sunday Independent investigation has revealed Bill Gates to be a “major Irish bank bondholder” ahead of the financial collapse. He held bonds in Anglo, Irish Nationwide, Bank of Ireland and AIB.

6. #MARRIAGE: Despite claims to the contrary by Senator Ronán Mullen and others, there were no formal complaints made to the Constitutional Convention about its recent hearings on same-sex marriage.

7. #BANKING: Legislation which will allow for a major inquiry into the night of the bank guarantee is expected in the next ten days, reports Cliff Taylor in the Sunday Business Post.

8. #CONFIRMED: Hundreds of sixth-class pupils across the country made their confirmation this month but two schoolchildren from Cork are preparing for an extra-special day as they are in the Vatican, waiting to be confirmed by Pope Francis.

9. #JOKES: The unusual tradition of the US President playing stand-up comedian at the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner happened last night. What do you reckon, funny or not?

“Rebuilding Europe: How should, can the EU move on after the crisis?”… anybody else think this title could have been better structured? I thought English was our first language!

They did cover it at launch-day several weeks ago, today is its release-day. On iDevice release-days it’s the MASSIVE queues that are noteworthy. No queues for Galaxy 4. Pity, nice phone, ‘tho’ a bit plasticky for me.

the problem with the two parties in government is there are too many former teachers/solicitors but how many econimists are in their ranks. Austerity to the TD’s etc is no pain try living on a modest income and be faced with cuts everyday.
Get some econimists to take over finance and we might see Ireland improving.

Enda & Gilmore also massage the truth how many promises have they broken and I am sorry if the truth hurts. For the working man the Labour Party will be having green shoots after the next election just lit the PD’s which for Labour will mean PAST DEPUTIES ,good bye Mr Gilmore PD

#LabourLiars: Huge news from SINDO about anne ferris and aonghus o’riordan on abortion. Nothing wrong with covert taping, used to stop Brian Lenihan’s presidency campaign, used to catch Quinn family money-laundering. Used to catch two labour td’s speaking their mind on abortion and no doubt the Sindo’s journalistic ethics will be lambasted by hypocritical pro-aborts.

what AFTER the crisis….the worst is yet to come or the FINAL POSITIVE change!!! AND WE DO NOT NEED SO MUCH RELIGION AT SCHOOL!!! We need an alternative for it!!!! Also in the country! Like if you can not built an ETNS everywyhere RIGHT NOW offer an alternative school subject at school called Spirituality (or in Germany it was called Ethics which was similar and about Morals and philosophy!) as for people not agreeing with the catholic upbringing have NO choice!!! That is desperate! My daughter will be in 2nd class next year and I just do not want her to learn that crap (in MY eyes) like confession (dont let me even start …) and I do not have a choice! As I do not want her excluded and still a part of her class and i fear that the priest will treat her different JUST because her mum does not “let her have the holy communion”… so that is URGENTLY NEEDED!!!!!

Can I ask why your daughter is in a catholic school? A child in my daughter’s class did not maker her Communion – no big deal was made.
