Michelle Obama and daughters set to visit Ireland

THE AMERICAN FIRST LADY and her daughters may visit Ireland next month, in a visit coinciding with US President Barack Obama attending the G8 summit in Fermanagh.

Michelle Obama is keen for her daughters Malia (15) and Sasha (12) to visit Moneygall, Co Offaly – the home of one of their father’s ancestors, Falmouth Kearney RTÉ News reports.

Barack and Michelle Obama visited the town in 2011 as part of their visit to Ireland, during which the president addressed a crowd of 50,000 in Dublin city centre.

The G8 summit will take place at Lough Erne Resort, Co Fermanagh 17–18 June.
