REVENUE HAS SAID it is happy with the level of response to property tax payments, as the postal deadline for filing paper returns passed yesterday.
It is estimated that so far 500,000 people have paid the tax – but an updated number will be known towards the end of this week.
A spokesperson said that they were “happy with the level of interest” given that three weeks remain until the online payment deadline of 28 May.
Yesterday, users reported issues using the online service for paying the tax. It transpired this was due to a scheduled system maintenance that took longer than expected to implement.
A spokesperson said today there should be no further problems with the site due to this now completed maintenance.
If people do not pay the tax by 1 July, Revenue will deduct it from source, by mandatory deduction from employment income, pensions, certain government payment or even from bank accounts if people do not comply.

I know that that lady and her husband have spent every waking moment of the last 16 years trying to find their baby boy. It’s a compounded grief now that she is going to her grave not knowing what happened to her beloved son. And somebody out there knows something. Completely devoid of any humanity to allow that to happen.
I don’t know about an afterlife but at times like this I truly hope that there is one and that Nancy is reunited with her baby boy again, forever. RIP x

That’s very sad, losing a child is the worst nightmare a parent can experience in life.

God love that poor family, they have been through hell. It breaks my heart that lady never found out where her son is. My condolences to her family.
