Massive hailstones fell in Oklahoma before the twister hit

The size of that thing!

Joe Murray via Andrea Kavanagh

HAIL IS A common weather phenomenon in Oklahoma.

But the state’s stones are nothing like the pea-sized balls we’re used to in Ireland. In 2010, a hail storm devastated Oklahoma City, causing about a billion dollars in damages to homes, vehicles and crops.

Hailstones can be as big as baseballs or grapefruits, as Joe Murray’s photo reveals.

His Ireland-based cousin, Andrea Kavanagh, sent TheJournal.ie this shot of a hailstone he found at the back of his house ahead of Monday’s tornado.

Another shocking event in construction in that region. You’d imagine in this day and age these things would not be so commonplace in a country that isn’t exactly a 3rd world country. Senseless loss of life, may they rest in peace.

I don’t disagree mate, but surely a 5 story building wasn’t being built in a slum? Of course my presumption could be totally wrong. Sad nonetheless.

Have any of you clowns actually been to Goa? It’s not a dump you ignoramus so quit your xenophobic spoofing.

It’s a beautiful place with some of the prettiest beaches you could ever see. Sunset on a beach in Goa is a sight you will never forget.
