The Daily PollPOLITICIANS IN THE Dáil today will debate legislation which would guarantee public access to recreational lands, regardless of who it is owned by.
If passed, Access to the Countryside Bill will give local authorities the power to designate lands which they believe the public ought to have the right of access to, for recreational and amenity purposes.
The law would see landowners indemnified from any legal action from a member of the public arising from an accident on that land.
