Poll: Should landowners be forced to provide access to their lands?

The Dáil will debate the issue today. What is your view?

POLITICIANS IN THE Dáil today will debate legislation which would guarantee public access to recreational lands, regardless of who it is owned by.

If passed, Access to the Countryside Bill will give local authorities the power to designate lands which they believe the public ought to have the right of access to, for recreational and amenity purposes.

The law would see landowners indemnified from any legal action from a member of the public arising from an accident on that land.

What do you think of the idea? Should landowners be forced to provide access to their lands?

@Mick McGuinness: Indeed, especially in this weather, let’s hope they get through OK.
