€20,000 in cash hidden in couple's clothes seized at Knock Airport

Officers from Revenue’s customs service now have a three month detention order in respect of the money.

OFFICERS FROM REVENUE’S Customs service seized some €20,000 in cash at Knock Airport yesterday when they stopped a couple who had arrived on a flight from Lanzarote.

The cash was found concealed in items of clothing in the couple’s carry on luggage.

It was seized by Revenue and officers were this morning granted a three-month detention order in respect of the cash in order to carry out further investigations.

I hope everyone gets out safe and the perp is caught alive. If this turns out to be another Islamist then it doesn’t bode well for race relations in France. Though my gut says its a Christian fundamentalist.
