FIVE PEOPLE WERE confirmed dead Sunday and at least 40 missing some 36 hours after the catastrophic derailment of an oil-laden cargo train in the Quebec town of Lac Megantic, police said.
Police spokesman Michel Brunet told reporters two more bodies had been discovered a day after the train jumped its track and set a large part of the town’s centre ablaze. Two corpses were found earlier Sunday and one on Saturday, officials said.
The accident in the Quebec town, located around 250 kilometers east of Montreal, created a fireball and forced 2,000 people from their homes.

Your first comment was sensible and emotional in the right balance, Paul. And then you ruined it with the immature second one. Stop seeking attention by detracting from the tragic event in Canada. Personally, I hope all 40 missing people are found so that no more deaths are added to that toll.

Genuinely sorry if I came across that way. I just think it’s too easy to make these underhand comments when a disaster doesn’t affect us directly, but this has had a huge effect on thousands of people, and it’s very tragic.
Hope the death toll doesn’t rise any further.

Possibly and hopefully death toll may be lower than expected. There’s no mention as to whether they have it under control yet.
