Hot, humid weather here to stay... Well, for at least a week anyway

Met Éireann say that temperatures are set to hit the mid-to-high 20s until at least Sunday.

WARM AND HUMID weather is what Met Éireann is forecasting until at least Sunday.

Temperatures are set to soar to 27 degrees in some parts of the country today and are expected to stay in the mid to high twenties for the rest of the week.

Of course, there will be the odd patches of mist and some cloud, we are in Ireland after all, but we’ll take what we can get.

Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine!

We were spoiled over the weekend with people all over the country getting to bask in the glorious sunshine, a TheJournal.ie reader sent us this picture (below) of Garryvoe Beach in east Cork. Nice. You can send us your pictures of your time in the sun to tips@thejournal.ie.

My daughter was born in June 2007 on the hottest weekend of the year. The day we left the hospital it started raining and basically hasn’t stopped. Every year the same “sunny spells with scattered showers”. This is the first year she got to do the little things like play in a paddling pool, burst tar bubbles, have a water fight without shivering afterwards etc. She is having a ball and I think some lovely memories are being made. All because of a little sunshine. Long may it last!! Have a great week everyone!

Be sun wise everybody …yes we all need sunlight to boost our systems & heighten our spirits, but stupidity will only leave us all sore for days on end…you can still get some colour with using good protective sunscreen. Skin cancer is a killer.

People better not forget in this weather to drink plenty of water, even during the night. If you start getting a slight headache start drinking water it means your getting dehydrated.
