THE IRISH COAST Guard has released a picture of two people in a small inflatable boat in Cork Harbour who are not wearing lifejackets in a bid to urge the public to ensure they wear the garments when in the water.
The picture was taken by an Irish Coast Guard safety patrol boat from Crosshaven station in Cork Harbour yesterday and shows two persons on board a small inflatable boat with no lifejackets.
The Coast Guard has reminded the public that “lifejackets are for life” and that they can dial 112 and ask for the Coast Guard if they think someone is in trouble in the water.
“Time can be critical and their call could save a life,” a spokesperson said.
